Btw, did you read Stuart Cosgrove book "Detroit '67" ?
I'm pretty sure that by July 1967, Mickey had left Motown.
I've no doubt he was in Detroit but still at the Motown studio?..not sure about that.
There was a forum discussion about his leaving:
Version 1: Berry Gordy promoted Eddie Holland above him, to run A&R. [[ Mickey's version).
Version 2: MGM tempted him away by offering lots of money and his own labels.
Whilst web based articles are sometimes misleading, or plain wrong, this supports version 2

Date April 1967....Mickey had well and truly left Motown by July 1967.
