Indeed it is, Moe. Instead of pondering how the Universe was created, it's much easier to assume it has always been there....and leave it at that...

moe
07-21-2014, 07:22 PM
I agree.........and wouldn't it be something to take the trip into space??

westgrandboulevard
07-22-2014, 06:27 AM
In my mind, yes.

In reality, I'd be quite happy to wish you "Bon Voyage!"

moe
07-22-2014, 07:45 PM
Sometimes you need to take that leap, westgrand!!;)

144man
07-23-2014, 12:09 AM
I'm quite happy just using my imagination.

moe
07-23-2014, 06:01 AM
No guts no glory!!!

westgrandboulevard
07-23-2014, 06:22 AM
I'd rather my guts stayed where they've been quite happy for the last 60+ years, Moe....

moe
07-23-2014, 08:01 PM
Well, that could be true. I'm sure some of our people in space have lost their cookies a few times!!

westgrandboulevard
07-24-2014, 04:45 AM
I have enough trouble with cookies, just operating this computer.....which thinks it's operating me...

moe
07-24-2014, 05:35 AM
It has been known to happen, westgrand!!

westgrandboulevard
07-24-2014, 05:40 AM
Are we talking life support, Moe...?

moe
07-25-2014, 06:03 AM
NO........but sometimes it seems our computers run us instead of vice versa.

westgrandboulevard
07-25-2014, 06:31 AM
We give them a lot of attention, but they have a way of wanting more.

moe
07-25-2014, 04:21 PM
And making us look stupid!!:[[

westgrandboulevard
07-25-2014, 06:08 PM
The answer to that is right at your fingertips......

moe
07-27-2014, 12:10 PM
Hopefully that answer isn't too complicated!

westgrandboulevard
07-27-2014, 02:59 PM
Take it one letter at a time.

moe
07-28-2014, 04:27 PM
Let's see: A-B-C.............;)

westgrandboulevard
07-28-2014, 07:04 PM
O, i. C. - !!

moe
07-29-2014, 05:36 AM
I'll bet you do!!;)

westgrandboulevard

Moe....translate this question into English [[British English and American English should be the same, in this case....!)

[[144man, you're excluded, as I'm pretty sure you will know both the answer, and the source!)

F. U N.E.X.?

moe
07-29-2014, 03:46 PM
I have 2 dozen eggs in my refrigerator, westgrand.

westgrandboulevard
07-29-2014, 04:06 PM
That's it! You have now made the initial step to in speaking posh British English....

144man
07-31-2014, 07:35 AM
Sometimes I will surprise you, westgrand:cool:

You certainly surprised Westgrand with your "S.I.L.L.Y. C.O.W." post.

moe
07-31-2014, 07:40 PM
I try really hard to keep up with you two, my friends!!!!:D

westgrandboulevard
08-01-2014, 06:12 AM
Looks like it comes perfectly easy to you, moe. No need to try, at all....!

144man
08-01-2014, 08:02 PM
I can't always think of anything to write...like right now.

westgrandboulevard
08-02-2014, 08:04 AM
Write now.....

moe
08-02-2014, 08:17 AM
Morning fellas!!!

westgrandboulevard
08-02-2014, 09:10 AM
Morning m'lady!

So what's it like with you, today?

[[or..... just what are you like, today?!.)

144man
08-02-2014, 01:29 PM
It's afternoon already.

westgrandboulevard
08-02-2014, 05:20 PM
I don't remember having lunch....

moe
08-02-2014, 08:31 PM
And yet you're probably sleeping now. That was fast!

westgrandboulevard
08-03-2014, 10:02 AM
I'm becoming accustomed to it. I went on a time diet last week and lost a couple of days....

moe
08-03-2014, 10:34 AM
I'd rather lose the pounds!!!

westgrandboulevard
08-04-2014, 06:09 AM
I have a handful of pounds I could afford to lose......

moe
08-04-2014, 07:45 PM
We might as well lose them together, westgrand!!

144man
08-04-2014, 08:01 PM
I'm going to go on eating until I'm twice the person I was.

westgrandboulevard
08-05-2014, 07:40 AM
And only half the person you could become.....

144man
08-05-2014, 08:03 AM
Back later...my chair has just collapsed beneath me!

westgrandboulevard
08-05-2014, 05:08 PM
You didn't have a leg to sit on.

moe
08-06-2014, 07:49 PM
By the seat of your pants!!

144man
08-07-2014, 03:55 AM
I'm not wearing any pants.

westgrandboulevard
08-07-2014, 04:49 AM
Depending on the precise definition of 'pants' here, it could be a case of too much information....

moe
08-07-2014, 05:34 AM
Very much so, westgrand!!! Does he wear a kilt or what???

westgrandboulevard
08-07-2014, 06:35 AM
Watch this space...and prepare to avert your gaze.

144man
08-07-2014, 07:15 AM
I was wearing my jimjams.

westgrandboulevard
08-07-2014, 07:21 AM
You can come out now, Moe.....

moe
08-07-2014, 07:59 PM
Are you sure????

144man
08-08-2014, 07:41 AM
Would he lie to you?

westgrandboulevard
08-08-2014, 11:05 AM
I'm awaiting the response with great interest.....

moe
08-09-2014, 08:05 PM
No.....he wouldn't'

144man
08-10-2014, 03:13 AM
He's right. You're perfectly safe with me. Trust me.

westgrandboulevard
08-10-2014, 11:02 AM
I remember similar exchanges to this being made in the playground....

moe
08-10-2014, 01:10 PM
Cross your fingers, fellas!!!:D

westgrandboulevard
08-10-2014, 01:47 PM
I remember running around the playground, seemingly aimlessly, trying to avoid being touched by someone who was 'it'.....

moe
08-12-2014, 06:46 AM
.............and then you were "it"!!!!

westgrandboulevard
08-12-2014, 07:13 AM
I know!! Oh....the horror of it. I then had to run as quick as possible, and touch someone else, so that they would then be 'it'.

It was like I had the bubonic plague or something.....

moe
08-12-2014, 11:23 AM
Yes, I have experienced that as a child!!!!!

westgrandboulevard
08-12-2014, 02:39 PM
Just once or twice since, I've wondered if it's happening all over again...

moe
08-12-2014, 03:44 PM
You're it!!! HAHA!!! Computer fixed............:D

westgrandboulevard
08-12-2014, 03:49 PM
It's like having an old and favourite pair of shoes returned from the menders. Remember that?

moe
08-12-2014, 07:45 PM
Oh yes, the shoe repair man. When repairing was more cost effective than a new pair!!

westgrandboulevard
08-13-2014, 09:52 AM
They would have to be a very expensive pair now, to justify the cost. There are, of course, a lot of expensive shoes which, once bought, then see little or no wear at all....

moe
08-13-2014, 07:38 PM
Of which I am guilty, westgrand!!

westgrandboulevard
08-14-2014, 10:37 AM
...and at which I am not the least surprised, Moe!

moe
08-14-2014, 08:08 PM
They can be works of art!!

westgrandboulevard
08-15-2014, 09:59 AM
As in, admired by people walking around them, rather than walking around IN them?!

moe
08-16-2014, 08:03 AM
Yes, I won't lie, westgrand..........;)

westgrandboulevard
08-16-2014, 08:23 AM
That must represent a good 75% of the shoes sold to women.....

moe
08-18-2014, 07:45 PM
That's a reasonable assumption westgrand

westgrandboulevard
08-19-2014, 03:18 AM
Some of those shoe manufacturing bosses must be well heeled.

moe
08-19-2014, 05:37 AM
It's based solely on your results!

westgrandboulevard
08-19-2014, 10:01 AM
You could be tied into some crazy designs....

moe
08-19-2014, 07:56 PM
That would cause painful feet:D

westgrandboulevard
08-20-2014, 04:46 AM
And strange looking feet, too. And there are plenty around...

144man
08-20-2014, 06:23 AM
No corny jokes please.

westgrandboulevard
08-20-2014, 06:04 PM
I wouldn't want to be thought callous.

moe
08-20-2014, 08:38 PM
Or a heel!

westgrandboulevard
08-21-2014, 03:19 AM
No, of course. I can tell we are in instep....

144man
08-21-2014, 11:07 AM
All together now: "The world is just a great big bunion...".

westgrandboulevard
08-21-2014, 12:22 PM
There's mischief afoot here......

144man
08-22-2014, 06:25 PM
I've never really been into shoes.

westgrandboulevard
08-22-2014, 06:28 PM
Well, upon my sole!

144man
08-23-2014, 07:22 AM
My shoes are falling to pieces. What steps should I take?

westgrandboulevard
08-23-2014, 07:34 AM
Walk this way....

144man
08-23-2014, 07:37 AM
If I walked that way, they'd arrest me...!

westgrandboulevard
08-23-2014, 07:41 AM
That happened to my Auntie Vera. She had an addiction for shoes. Couldn't resist them. Was walking down Oxford Street, London, and saw a shop sign : "Giant Shoe Sale". Not five minutes had passed, and out she came, wearing a pair of stilettos, size 22. The police found her clinging to the shop front....

144man
08-23-2014, 08:13 AM
Many years ago, the Queen was visiting the East End of London, when the heel of her shoe broke. Luckily enough this happened just outside the shop of a Jewish shoe-repairer, and he proudly mended the shoe. In fact, he was so proud that he put a sign in his shop window: "COBBLERS TO THE QUEEN". The next day, the owner of the shop next door put a sign in his window saying, "BALLS TO THE CHIEF RABBI".

westgrandboulevard
08-23-2014, 08:28 AM
To say nothing of R. Soles, in Kings Road, Chelsea....

moe
08-23-2014, 01:54 PM
Who's that westgrand?

westgrandboulevard
08-23-2014, 05:20 PM
I've said it once, Moe...I'll not say it again....

moe
08-23-2014, 07:02 PM
No problem westgrand!!!:D

westgrandboulevard
08-24-2014, 06:16 AM
On the subject of no problem, hope those bats were caught and released from your basement - !

moe
08-26-2014, 10:03 AM
I am not making this up, westgrand: went down to the basement & the bats haven't been seen since............

westgrandboulevard
08-26-2014, 02:52 PM
Probably just en-route for somewhere, used your basement as a stop-over, then decided they wouldn't make it permanent.....

moe
08-26-2014, 04:45 PM
No room service for them, perhaps!!;)

westgrandboulevard
08-26-2014, 04:49 PM
They're more accustomed to 'Food On The Go'....

moe
08-27-2014, 08:50 AM

westgrandboulevard
08-27-2014, 02:43 PM
Maybe KFC should bring out a 'Bat Outta Hell' range, just for them....available 24/7.

moe
08-27-2014, 05:56 PM
And put it in NE Ohio

westgrandboulevard
08-27-2014, 06:03 PM

144man
08-27-2014, 06:33 PM
Maybe KFC should bring out a 'Bat Outta Hell' range, just for them....available 24/7.

I didn't know KFC sold meatloaf.

westgrandboulevard
08-27-2014, 06:54 PM
It doesn't. There were never any flies on Meatloaf....quite unlike the "Bat Outta Hell" offer....now available in McDonalds Fly-Thrus....

144man
08-28-2014, 04:29 AM
True fact. There was a newspaper report a while back about an argument at a McDonalds Drive-through because they wouldn't serve a girl who was riding a horse.

westgrandboulevard
08-28-2014, 04:59 AM
I bet she got on her high horse about that.

08-28-2014, 05:07 AM

08-28-2014, 05:13 AM
Typical behaviour of the female sex.

144man
08-28-2014, 05:17 AM
Just what are we talking about now?

westgrandboulevard
08-28-2014, 05:29 AM
Speaking of those women, quite prevalent, who seem rather carnivorous in their relationships, and who then like to publicise how it has all gone wrong for them. Generally speaking, they are generally speaking...

moe
08-28-2014, 01:09 PM
Women who constantly say what's wrong in their relationships better look in the mirror; they are the one constant in those relationships!!

westgrandboulevard
08-28-2014, 03:20 PM
Even innocent Snow White found herself in a whole heap of bother caused by a mirror. They can't be trusted......

moe
08-28-2014, 04:14 PM
Even Angela Lansbury in "The Mirror Crack'd"

westgrandboulevard
08-28-2014, 04:42 PM
Angela Lansbury's version is a good version, but heavily customised for your American market. There are those in the industry who feel that , without it, you [[our friends over there) would never understand what was being said, or happening. I suppose they knew what they were doing, but it doesn't give much credit to the intelligence of American viewers.

For what it's worth, over here, Joan Hickson is still considered the quintessential Miss Marple. If you've not yet seen it, check out her 'The Mirror Crack'd From Side To Side', from 1992...it might seem quaint and really dated, but it is fully authentic, and true to the original novels, and their timescale.

moe
08-28-2014, 09:27 PM
Angela Lansbury will never hold a candle to Joan Hickson

westgrandboulevard
08-29-2014, 01:42 PM
Interesting to learn you think that. After I posted the comment, I then wondered if authenticity was only more important to me, simply because Agatha Christie was from this side of the Atlantic. Time moves on, and most people watching TV wll not relate back to the novels, or even read them.

To be fair to both ladies :

When starring as Miss Marple, Joan Hickson was in her first ever leading TV or film role, and was also in her 80s. She was always really a character actress.

Angela Lansbury is a leading lady, and was much better suited to 'Murder, She Wrote' than Joan H. would ever have been.

Takes all sorts......:)

PS. do you ever have trouble understanding any of the regional accents from productions from the UK?

moe
08-30-2014, 08:09 AM
No...........that's why DVR's were invented for me!!! Rewind, repeat, again.......;)

westgrandboulevard
08-30-2014, 10:15 AM
As long as you enjoy doing it.....:)

144man
08-30-2014, 05:45 PM
Angela Lansbury's grandfather, George Lansbury, was leader of the UK Labour Party in the mid-1930s.

westgrandboulevard
08-30-2014, 05:57 PM
Then, evidently, he had quite a large number of followers, as has his granddaughter.

144man
08-30-2014, 06:03 PM
Not enough to become Prime Minister though.

westgrandboulevard
08-30-2014, 06:06 PM
I never knew that Angela Lansbury had ever hoped to become Prime Minister...

144man
08-30-2014, 06:13 PM
She always denied it, but if it had been forced upon her...

westgrandboulevard
08-30-2014, 06:27 PM
.....then Beatrice Arthur would have been her deputy....

moe
09-01-2014, 07:54 AM
Beatrice Arthur, ha! a good choice!!

westgrandboulevard
09-01-2014, 08:18 AM
I can imagine those two in Parliament, at Prime Minister's Question Time.

If questions from the Opposition had become a tad tricky, Angela and Beatrice could have just launched into 'Bosom Buddies'......

moe
09-03-2014, 08:55 PM
What code?

westgrandboulevard
09-04-2014, 04:28 AM
A common code, a code in the head. Makes you sniff. Usually results in a blocked node. :)

moe
09-04-2014, 05:37 AM
Which node? SA Node? AV Node?

westgrandboulevard
09-04-2014, 05:40 AM

westgrandboulevard
09-21-2014, 07:34 AM

All he ever left me was A LOAN.

What's a mood ring?

westgrandboulevard
09-23-2014, 03:56 PM
It means when you're sad, your mobile phone cries when someone is calling you.

And, when you're happy, it laughs maniacally when someone is calling you.

144man
09-23-2014, 03:59 PM
Shouldn't that be on the "Just A Chime" thread?

westgrandboulevard
09-23-2014, 04:02 PM
Yes, of course - I knew something about it rang a bell.....
