Well, on her farewell tour Tina did lots of slick moves and high tech production AND managed to sing like the legend she is! I'll open the bowels of hell with this comment but just perhaps Janet is an r&b version of Britney Spears, an attractive performer with far more flash and personality than talent. YES! WENT THERE!!

Yes, like Janet, Tina was an accomplished dancer as opposed to Gladys who was merely a songstress and a great one, but much different audience expectations and demographics than Tina or Janet... As for Tina...her audience was likely more a hybrid of Janet's and Gladys audience in that Tina had essentially two careers...the quasi West Coast rock-soul days with Ike, and her second career that took off in the 80's and exposed Tina to an entirely new [[and younger) audience as opposed to Gladys whose audience is mostly made up of "old school" Soul music fans...

Don't forget the St. Louis blues/early soul years of the early '60s prior to the official move to the West Coast. Tina actually had three different phases whereas Gladys and Janet were just on one [[though musically Gladys transitioned more than say Janet).

All three have their audiences.
