To make matters worse, Janet was part of what is called RNB Fridays. Guess when folks pay tickets, they did expect her to sing just based on the title.

What makes it tough for someone like Janet is she does have a very pretty soulful voice in the studio but it never went above the studio so she knew her limitations. She herself would say "I'm no Whitney Houston". She's gonna have her defenders though.
