Wow, Almost Persuaded. Another oft-recorded song that Etta makes her own. Great stuff.
Etta's sons Donto [[plays drums) and Sametto [[plays bass) are featured on the "Blues To the Bone" album.
70s Etta may be her coolest period.
I had the great pleasure of seeing Etta live in concert 5 or 6 times over the years. In 1989 I managed to get back stage after a show she did here in San Diego and got to see her for a brief moment. Just long enough to tell her I was fan and get this autograph. She was most gracious.
PS: John I know I told you it more like 10 times, but when I got to thinking about it I realized some of those different memories were from the same concerts. Hey, I'm old, I can't remember everything.
I didn't know how to scan the entire album cover.

Haaaaaaaa.....yes...Diana did do "99 and 1/2"....not quite the same version!
How was Seven Day Fool not a hit? Incredible production.
I don't remember where I got this clipping. But I love the quote and have always kept this clipping.

This being my twenty-first show is the last time I can legitimately call myself Mr. 21! LOL
I'd Rather Go Blind should have been an a-side. Etta really did have an embaressment of riches in the '60s.
Blowing in the Wind and then Groove Me...wowohoo? Joseph the first hour was great, the second hour was hot and the third hour is on Fire! WOW! Loving Etta101 tonight...
King Floyd did Groove Me
King Floyd, Johnny.
"Pushover" and "Payback" ....Etta doing fantistic with the girl group sound.
so sorry I missed the show - too much props - will look for next week

GREAT closing tone, Joseph, to put a cap on an exquisitely sequenced lineup. Thank you so much for a beautiful night of music which introduced me to a few new favorites.
