Chudney's the most private as Ross is as well. They're authentic and sincere. The least "showy" in the family. I like them the most along with Rhonda. Tracee is extremely smart and talented. Evan is devoted to Mom. Diana Ross raised beautiful kids.

The lady sure did! At a Radio City Music Hall NYC performance a year or two ago Tracee was in the audience and Rhonda performed. Diana beckoned Tracee on stage {'In your big shoes') to sing along. It was magical.

I don’t know if I would consider him a real big fan. I didn’t get that impression at all when I read his book years ago. BTW his book is great from what I remember. It was a great read.

Yes David seems to have become a gushing fan now.

The version of Amazing Grace included in his interview is very good - I almost stop wishing she would sing it like she did in 1991

Thanks for posting David's review. I enjoyed reading it and it bears acknowledging that many, if not all or most, in spite of our relatively minor critiques, would concur that she's the Boss in her arena. And as David pointed out, deservedly so. And as our smart critic Carlo pointed out, we don't have to agree with her every decision to respect her for making her own, and owning them. And more often than not, she triumphs [[or at least lands on her
feet).

Just saw a very recent clip of her performing the Boss...which sounded great, and I was convinced it was live at the moment...then about halfway through, she made a noticeable lipsynch mistake...uh oh.

I read it years ago and really enjoyed it, I may need to get it down from my bookshelf and read it again.

I remember seeing a clip from one of the shows [possibly from the O2], where Diana called Chudney to come out onstage. She poked her head out from the wings very quickly. She's always been shy.

Chudney and Ross seem the most reserved. All her children come across as being well balanced and genuinely nice people. It seems strange that Tracee is always so reluctant to sing.

This is really nice, with Diana’s voice sounding warm and inviting. The fact they always seem to mess it up somewhere along the line is quite endearing lol.

Sad to see that again she was miming to her 60’s recordings with the Supremes, being something that as a long time fan i find hard to watch.
I think in a few years time it is likely she will be lip-synching to her album tracks from the 70’s and 80’s as well.
Diana once said in an interview that she would retire if her voice was starting to sound not so good, something that now seems far less likely.

32 tracks in all so value for money - a few more than when she performed at Royal Albert Hall.

The concert is given as sold out but I'm not so sure although it was as near as - there were a few blacked out seats at the end of both sides of the circle but this was of necessity as you couldn't have seen the stage.

What I did notice was that on both the right and left hand side of the circle there was a section which was half-empty with not long to curtain-up when suddenly a host of people started filling them.

It was only one particular section and there was no way everyone suddenly arrived together like that but oddly they just came in and filled the seats but it was noticeably odd that no-one was " searching" for their seats which the surely would have been.

It really seemed to me that it was like people from the back of the stadium being moved forward.

I'd also love to know whether there was any serious discounting of tickets in the last few weeks.

No matter it was more or less a full house.

There don't seem to be any figures available for the attendances but it seems that they were all pretty well attended except for the Glasgow venue at which there were embarrasingly large empty sections - I had feared for Leeds and Nottingham.

It was an odd choice of venue since her record sales there were relatively poor compared to most other area - maybe it was something to do with having the Scottish National Orchestra.

We were 9 rows back and the two screens they had were at such an angle that we couldn't really see them properly which meant that you couldn't see her lip-synching although I personally don't get uptight about that provided it is within reasonable limits [[I prefer it for the Supremes' songs) - we go to see Diana weave her magic over the audience and were on our feet for a good percentage of the time.

Pleasingly she was in good voice - only four Supremes songs but they were longer versions and she sang almost all of You Can't Hurry Love which is my personal fav.

She was great on If We Hold On Together which is quite a hard song to get right the way the lyrics are arranged.

It would have been a much bigger hit in the UK but by the time it was released many had the album but what it did do was take Force back into the Top 20 at Christmas the following year powering the album to the half-million sales by far her largest seller in the UK.

I'm Still Waiting had a much better reception that it has had of late - who can forget the way the theatres rocked to it back in the 70s and 80s? and Chain Reaction of course went down a bomb.

Only one Lady song which suited me - sorry but I'm just not into that side of her at all.

I noticed it at RAH but even more so here - she was actually good on Endless Love - this from someone who has never been overboard on her solo performance of that track.

Reach Out And Touch had reasonable reaction but who can forget back when the whole theatre would hold hands with the person next to them and the whole arena rocked.

And then surprisingly almost the highlight of the show - a stunning performance of Amazing Grace with a controlled full voice - I was totally amazed.
