oh of course you can change things! lol that's half the fun
it would very interesting to hear what some of the original proposed lineups for the LC album were to be. we've heard that at first motown wanted serious, socially conscience songs and mature themes. the challenge with that is the material we've received so far that falls into this definition would have made a very heavy album. and you need some variety. even on marvin's What's Going On there are very different approaches to tunes and different sounds/styles.
as is, i think the album would have benefitted from rearranging the tracks. it's a rather odd shift after track 4 to go from those darker tunes to more sunny pop stuff.
I think Honey Bee and Sunny Boy are a bit too lightweight. maybe this for an album:
Love child
keep an eye
The Nitty Gritty
If you should walk away
chains of love
some things you never get used to
how long has that evening train
I'm so glad i got someone like you around
does your mama know about me
you've been so wonderful to me
can't shake it loose
i'll set you free
