Shame no one else has remembered "Barrett" just yet, thought we could have a different 45 from 1976.

I liked his songwriting much more than his singing[[although his singing was memorable, too). He wrote songs and worked as an assistant producer on a good portion of his mid-'60s Chicago Sound productions for Calvin Carter at VJ, Carl Davis, with Okeh, Constellation, and ATCO[[Mary Wells), and I liked much of his Motown songwriting as well.

"Such A Sweet Thing" by Mary Wells , her follow up to "Dear Lover" in 1966, wriiten by Barrett Strong should have been a HUGE HIT!!!Thanks Barney Ales.

I agree. I loved both songs when they came out. I actually thought they were on the Motown label

I still listen to his two albums on capitol “Stronghold” and “Live and Love”. I’m sure there’s no chance of them showing up on cd but I have converted them
