Four Tops "Now" is an album that I think is long overdue a re-release on CD - remastered preferably.
I'd even accept an Elemental label release despite a bad experience with David Ruffin's "My Whole World Ended" where the mastering is absolutely shocking. That really put me off buying their CDs. I'd really like Culture Factory to produce a mini LP version of Four Tops "Now".
Until such time as a new release of the album is made available, the price gougers will have their day in asking the earth for what was released on CD years ago [[yes I know it can be downloaded but....). However, some of you will have that CD release, and my question to you is what tracks are on your copy?
The album tracks are
1. The Key
2. What Is A Man
3. My Past Just Crossed My Future
4. Don't Let Him Take Your Love From Me
5. Eleanor Rigby
6. Little Green Apples
7. Do what You Gotta Do
8. MacArthur Park
9. Don't Bring Back Memories
10. Wish I Didn't Love You So
11. Opportunity Knock [[For Me)
12. The Fool On The Hill
The only version I think that is listed on Discogs is MOTD5466 - no probs there but there is currently listed on Ebay, for nearly $130 as 3746354662 which is apparently different. The track list shows
1. Eleanor Rigby
2. Little Green Apples
3. Do What You Gotta Do
4. MacArthur Park
5. The Fool On The Hill
6. California Dreamin'
7. The Key
8. Wish I Didn't Love You So
9. My Past Just Crossed My Future
10. Don't Bring Back Memories
11. Opportunity Knock [[For Me)
12. Don't Let Him Take Your Love From Me
Bonus Track [[CD and cassette only) **
13. What Is A Man
Is this a genuine release? It seems to indicate that a vinyl re-release of the album had the wrong tracks with "California Dreamin' " [[which was on "Soul Spin") replacing "What Is A Man" - plus tracks out of order.
What do you have?
