She is one of those rare singers, like Billie Holiday that makes you feel what she is singing. Aretha was like that too.

Bettye is a true survivor, everybody should read her autobiography "A Woman Like Me", one of the most sincere and "real" that I've ever read. And very funny too !

It's real alright. I doubt that she held back on anything. I wish all biographies were that self-reflecting, raw, and revealing.
