This could so easily have been an Invictus or Hot Wax recording. It just has that sound about it.

And in between her Motown work and the duet with Elton John she was tearing it up with "I've Got The Music In Me".

That's what I'd call full bore Kiki. A peerless performance IMO.

I was 15 going on 16 that summer of 1976. This was before MTV and I think I saw this video first on "The Midnight Special". Right after that, it really took off to the point of where you heard it at least once a day that "Bicentennial" summer.

This is one of my all time favorite songs. I bought the 7' single and it sent shivers up and down my spine every time i heard it - still does to be honest. Such a beautiful song superbly performed and produced. Love it. Thanks for posting my friend.

Yes they were rover. Her producers were Clay McMurray, Duke Browner, Jack Goga and Jimmy Roach, while Frank Wilson produced her in Detroit and LA [[according to Don't Forget the Motor City website).
