And AWB had so many great songs. I couldn't pick out the top 10.

WAR was on top of the world during the mid-70s.
An underrated classic.
My heart broke when Al Jarreau died as if it was someone I know. Loved this dude.
And another:
That was a great album.
He had so much control of his voice.
This isn't a classic per se but I picked it up at a second hand shop in Columbus and loved this song. I don't think he ever broke outside of NYC.
He was a great guy! I remember sitting with him and my mother one afternoon just talking about things that were going on in the city and he offered to through the party. I was very happy about it of course. I also remember we use to party in the same places as Tommy Hearns, also an excellent guy. I do miss Mr. Steward and those good old days. I miss Obie Benson of the Four Tops telling us we didn't have to stand online to get into a popular club downtown, he got us in in front of a bunch of people. Still remember his "whiskey voice" hehehehehehe!
There is really not a lot to it or rather that's much different from a lot of groups from Detroit. Just a bunch of dudes, buddies that got together to harmonize. They sounded good together and the rest was as they say "history". Enchantment were very underrated. So were the Floaters.
..........I just have to! I could pick so many cuts & live clips...it's endless... But right now let's post this one:
If you're on Facebook, guys, I hope you're in these groups or would consider joining. Keep the love for this amazing act & legacy going strong

Ah Ha!
Here they are again on TV
Sweet. I'm afraid that I got to all this a little later!
Everybody's seen this but it doesn't hurt to repeat it...often... I start this at 5:36 - and THE quote ''Are y'all still there?!"...lol...Personally, the first time I saw what comes after that I was literally on the floor after like some scene in a Goldie Hawn comedy Whaaat? I had seen them in irl a long time before then, and they were g-r-e-a-t, but I had no idea they did THIS! It's my very fav clip on YT.
They debuted "Shake It Well" on local Detroit TV. They performed it for the first time on "The Scene" our local daily dance show on WGPR Channel 62. Right after that it was on the radio a lot and we all went out and bought it. The last time I saw this particular group of the Dramatics was in 1987 when my Mother's social group hired them for a party they gave.
Moving on up to 1989-90, this group from the U.K. knocked me out!
Marv2, I don't want to leave you hanging here any longer. Go easy on me now tho, because I come to join you..., I just had a death in my family a few days ago, so please...
I didn't assume they were speaking in 1987. Were they? You say so. Great...[[not really) news....
Here is a classic interview [[from exactly when I don't know) about how they weren't really speaking for quite some time. I didn't hear it just now, I heard it ''some time'', I don't recall quite what's said here, and for sure not what's said in full.
It has quite a bit of music, but I feel like moving pictures too, so I'll put one of those below.
Here's one
Written by LJ Reynolds, in a combo arrangement. I love this!
Marv2 It will be a tripple here. I did my Squirrel maths while I took my shelties out just now, and he left in 1981, right? I'm not sure, you correct me if I'm wrong there - see I was no where near any of this music in realtime at the time. He left among other reasons because Ron Banks and Forest Hamilton brought someone else in to do the choreography, right? That was a mean move!!! Squirrel's steps are THE BEST EVER IMHO he just leaves Charlie Atkins in the dust!!! Anyway, then he, Mr. Demps, was back for the Snoop collab, so that was in 1993. Nevermind about The Dramatics' reunion and WeeGee being back between 1987 and 1989, this was an organization where people came and went, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if they did privates with another line-up or whatever. I just leave that OUT But at the time, in 1987, The Dramatics were in fact performing someone else's choroegraphy on Soul Train and so forth. That must have been such a bitch for Squirrel, and so unfair in every way, because his steps were such a part of this group's charm. However, that was what was happening at their 'dayjob' at the time. So that 10 year period, was it? [[I didn't listen just now) when there was no communication must have been sometime between 1981 and 1993, when Squirrel was back in the fold working with them?
I have no idea!
And I said I'd never talk about The Dramatics here again, but it's just fate, innit???
Marv2, it's quite busy on my end, so do your Classic Soul Jams here - it's a great thread you've got going! And if you come in to comment on The Dramatics' theme here in these last few posts, please know that I'm so busy but I will come in to read and comment even if it takes weaks Just keep those great clips coming in the meantime.

One of my favorite music memories of 1970!
1971 would not have been the same without this one......
They were as popular with us kids as the Jackson 5 at one brief point in 1972:
September 1973......
From 1994's "Above the Rim"!
My JAM from 1998!
Eric B. & Rakim!!! 1987
One of the best from 1999!
One of my very favorites from 1990:
It was Fall 1977 and it was PARTY TIME!!!!
Can't forget this one from the summer of 1986!
I know this is not generally considered a Classic Soul Jam......but I liked it a lot:
The Killa record in the summer of '85!
