NGroove you are really coming up with some good ones from throughout the "Motown Era". Thank you!
Thank you very much.
I believe I shall define the "Motown Era" as 1959 - 1986, as Motown was still actively pumping the hits, both pop and soul, before Motown became more affiliated as "oldies", more used by movies and Richard Simmons.
And, gives me just excuse to include this snappy, memorable favorite from the group who started as funk, but became more known for ballads.

...another one for consideration ...would be this fantastic Motown sound ...from The Originals ...why it was never a hit ...and why it's never been issued on CD ...is totally beyond me...!!
Great songwriter and singer. One of the best!

Starting to get concerned about lack of Junior Walker. Ah well, first entry of his will be one of them "pretty" Johnny Bristol productions.

here's one by The Four Tops featuring the Andantes that I like to revisit on occasion:
Just curious ...does this song make anyone else sad, melancholy ? Is it me or the composition ....

One of Smokey's classic compositions, recorded by The Marvelettes. Probably his most covered song ever. Still, this is the iconic version by which all others are measured.
Marvelettes "The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game"
I cry-the miracles...going way back with this one.

The Miracles - "Going To A Go-Go"
The Supremes - "Love Is Like An Itching In My Heart"
Four Tops - "Something About You"
...perhaps this cracking unreleased Motown instrumental by the Funk Brothers will make the final cut...!
True Fine Boy
