The birth of disco? A medium soul hit in 1972 , Tom Moulton got ahold of it in 1975 , tacked some of its instrumental version [[PENGUIN AT THE BIG APPLE ) up front and turned it into a five minute dance floor favorite found on the cleverly named, never before released , THE LEGENDARY ZING ALBUM lp.
PS I like that Twinkie Clark piece Glen!

Twinkie's "Awake O Zion" is irresistible. For a church girl, she certainly knew her way around the disco.
Hey marv, take a listen to the marvelettes version of[a breathaking guy]and tell me it's not disco!
Disco land-norman connors..pretty cool.
Remember Brainstorm? "Lovin' Is really my game".
Did you guys know that last week was the 40th Anniversary of the Disco Demolition night at Chicago's Cominsky Park where they blew up thousands of Disco records as a part of the "Disco Sucks" campaign? They wanted to abolish Disco music forever. The name was changed to "Dance Music" and the beat goes on........
More Detroit Disco from 1981......Was [[Not Was) - "Out Come The Freaks"
Chicago disco-major lance, very cool tune from his motown session.
Found it!
This was ZE's big one, #1 disco :
Nope, Was Not Was [[Don Was and brother David Was) along with the rest of the band were Detroit natives! Remember the song "Walk The Dinosaur" from around the mid 80s? That was them also. The label, ZE may have been out of NYC but the music and talent on the above record was 100% DETROIT! "Out Comes the Freaks" was a huge favorite with Detroiters in 1981.
Marv, you'll have to educate me, I thought all the ZE stuff was out of NYC?Oh very good. I learned something!

Did somebody ask if there's a Dr. in the house?
Here's one most Disco Ducks sleep on: Giorgio Morodo - The Chase. The running time is 'bout a week!!
From the coldest Winter in the history of the World! [[or at least my lifetime) 1978:

She was truly one of a kind:
Everyone got in on the Disco action it seems......
Even Miss Mary Wilson!
One of the best examples from the era:
Throwing a good love away-the spinners
Up on soul train-the whispers.

Has Alec R. Costandinos been mentioned here yet?:

Jack, when you mention Alec R. Costandinos, you've gotta be thinking "Romeo & Juliet"! Am I right?!!! Ha! I always loved Side 2 of that piece. At 8:39, the segment with "I believed in our love. It was all I ever had to live for" still hits me like a ton of bricks! So very, very pretty!
