Was there any kind of relationship between Ali and Motown?
They were all young and conquering the world and capturing the minds and hearts of young black America in the mid 60s but in all the Ali and Motown books I've read there wasn't anything mentioned that I can remember
The books did mention that Ali seemed to personally prefer older music like Chubby Checker and I don't think any Motown acts were at the Foreman fight in Zaire [[the Spinners were there but this was past their time at Motown)
Did Ali not care for the music, the artists? Berry?
Berry was a boxer but I've never read any Ali related comments from him
There was more than a few Ali inspired songs in the 60s and 70s
Did a Motown act ever do one?
It just came to me and I thought that it was odd that as important as each was at that time Motown and Ali didn't seem to have much if anything to do with each other
Is that right? And if so does anyone know why?
