Melvin Davis and Ms. Pat Lewis at the Detroit Institute of Art

Melvin Davis and The United Sounds are excited to invite you to an evening of free with museum admission, feel-good, dance floor burning Detroit soul in the historic Diego Rivera courtyard at the venerable Detroit Institute of Arts on Woodward Ave. The night will begin with a short set dedicated to the memory of Detroiter Lee Rogers from local rockers The Wrong Numbers. Featured in the set will be Rogers’ D-Town compatriot, arr...anger, and producer, Mr. Mckinley Jackson on keys.
Soon thereafter, the band will have the pleasure of presenting another Detroiter with a big history, Pat “No One to Love” Lewis. Ms. Lewis will join the group to perform several of her 60’s northern sides, some for the first time on this side of the Atlantic. The boys have been working hard and Pat is sounding like Hot Buttered Soul.
Closing the night, Melvin and The United Sounds will take the stage in a soul send-up not soon to be forgotten. Many musical surprises are planned, and a good time is assured. Even the suspendered guys eternally building that Ford 8-BA Flathead will be dancing, Edsel be damned!
