American Soul has been spilling some major tea about Don Cornelius. But apparently, according to tonight’s episode, he had an extramarital affair with a woman. This woman is clearly based on Motown executive Susanne DePasse, as she plays a role similar to to her. Can anyone confirm whether this was true or something they made up for the show?

jboy, or others - are you still keeping up with American Soul? I have to say that by episode three I lost interest - too many additional fictional side character story lines distracting me from the main Soul Train story line. Is it worth continuing with?

I’m enjoying it so far! Much like the DePasse doppelgänger, the Clark kids are speculated to be based on the members of the Soul Train Gang and/or Shalamar.
