    I'm frustrated with the way the media handled this. First he's gone, then he isn't but is clinging to life. They need to get their facts straight! This happened when Ollie Woodson of the Temptations passed too. RIP Tom

    Well when he was declared brain dead, he was gone but continued to breathe without the life support.

    He was from Gainesville, FL. Last weekend at the Florida Gators game, which both of my brothers went to, the half-time included a Tom Petty tribute and the entire gathering of people sang along on the songs.
    Also, recently read an interview in which Tom Petty said the very first 45rpm record he bought was "Playboy" by the Marvelettes.
