Batman was the show that made me beg my father to get a color TV back in the 60s! I use to fight with my brother to watch "Batman" on ABC when he wanted to watch "Lost In Space" on CBS. They came on at the same time. As kids in the neighborhood, we couldn't wait until then next week to watch the next episode of Batman. Rest in peace Adam West and thanks!

I used to love when Batman & Robin would be climbing up the side of a building when a window would open & someone famous would appear. Loved that show! RIP 😭

Funny thing is that he enjoyed the role and became more famous for it than any of his dramatic ones.

In the mid-sixties, Batman was a cultural phenomenon!

That show still has the best opening in history. For some reason, my enduring memory of it was in the movie that introduced it. A shark latched onto Batman's leg and ever resourceful, he asked Robin for the Shark Repellent Bat Spray to get rid of the pest. Adam West always seemed like a cool guy who didn't mind being associated with one of the most iconic roles in TV. RIP, Batman.

The one with Michael Keaton in 1989 was very dark indeed.

Marv, I have a question: why did John Astin replace Frank Gorshin as the Riddler?

seem to remember it had something to do with scheduling. Frank Gorshin either film or something going on the conflicted with the Batman schedule. Remember there were 3 different Catwomen, 2 Darrins on Bewitched etc,etc LOL!

I also remember that John had just finished up playing Gomez on the Addams Family.

I watched "Batman" regularly, so am sorry to hear of Adam West's passing. I am also a regular viewer of "Family Guy" and wonder how they will ever replace the mayor of Quahog.

Moe, a long, long time ago on the old forum we had a great thread about "Who played the best Catwoman"? I am going to try to find it.

I never saw anything in the Uk about Batman dying. I used to rush round my grandparents to watch this in colour. What memories.
