Unhappy Rock and roll legend Chuck Berry dies

Looks like the world lost a rock and roll legend today. Chuck Berry died at the age of 90. At least he had a very nice, long life, but still a big blow to rock history.

Chuck Berry was great. I saw him live a couple of times. He hired local musicians when he played in Boston.

For those who distinguish Rock music to be different from Rock and Roll, Chuck Berry is the foundation upon which Rock is built. He brought the electric guitar into prominence and made it the defining instrument as a lead and rhythm instrument. He also brought the soul of the Blues along with the chords that Rock continues to use as a blueprint. Chuck Berry and Little Richard are as influential to Rock as any artist or writer to any genre. Bob Marley is the closest to them, in my opinion. I hated hearing this and my prayers and thoughts extend to his family and loved ones.

My local paper says that he had almost completed a new album, his first in 40 years. Has anyone else heard this?

David. I understand a new album of original material will be released soon. I think the title of the album is "Chuck".

Exactly what my paper reported. Thanks for the corroboration.
