I'm sure she has Rob. But it's not what I like to listen to. I dare say that playing Ronnie Love's "Detroit Michigan" is not her bag either. But hey, each to their own.
LOL.......she's not attracting much attention here. I just wanted to see if there would be a response.
And what is interesting is that this is what the record companies must be concerned about. People aint interested anymore and it's hard to attract their attention.
Of course, there are still a few ole farts left. No names mentioned, of course!
Tammy Wynette had soul but she was not a soldier.
I guess it all depends on what you think "SOUL" Is....if it is rifting ala Aretha than no, This is not Soul...If "SOUL" Is a feeling from the lyric and it gets the expression over than Yes it does. I am not a HUGE tammy fan, a little to far country for my taste, but that said I can listen to it...I can see how many would like it

There's a nice Northern soul version of this by Willie Hobbs on Sound Stage 7. It was co-written by veteran writers Larry Henley [[former Newbeats member) and Red Lane.
Tammy had style...don't know if I'd say she had 'soul'...but I grew up listening to her and still enjoy her music to this day.
Best,
Mark
Is there any doubt? There is so much Honesty and you can feel her pain. You can't get more Soulful then that. Patsy also had the gift.
Of course she had soul, you just have to listen to her voice.
Personally I think Big Mama King does...
