Great start to a lifetime soundtrack, Marv. My own would include a lot of Motown, Atlantic, and Philly. Mainly Atlantic from the '50s, Motown from the '60s, and Philly records from the '70s.

Happy birthday, Marv2, you have selected the real "icons" of classic soul. In fact, IMHO, apart from the fact that i'm a Philly Sound lover, "In Philadelphia" album by Wiked Pickett is the best IMHO and also in the opinion of many music criticals.

When I was younger and I was joyful and / or celebrating something, I started my particular "jam session" playing "I'm For Real" 45' by George Duke [[with the hilarious scream at the beginning), continued with "Fishbite" by Ramsey Lewis and "Nursery Rhymes" by People's Choice and "Berta But Booguie" by Jimmy Castor...
