So sad. She was almost a Supreme at one point. Perhaps our moderator Ralph could share some memories of working with Marlene and the Andantes

I never had the pleasure of working with the Andantes, Bayou. I was happy using Telma Hopkins, and Joyce and Pam Vincent.

God, what a shock! I've loved The Andantes since the first time I heard them on Eddie Holland's "Just Ain't Enough Love" and "Candy To Me", along with Kim Weston's "Just Loving You". When I found out in the '80s that they were the back-up vocalists on nearly all of Motown's mid-to-late 1960's recordings, The Andantes quickly became my all-time favorite girl group. And now Marlene Barrow is gone. Rest in peace, Marlene. You provided a world of endless musical joy.

Andy Skurow has posted on his Facebook page tribute to Marlene that there are stories about her in 2 of their delayed , but upcoming projects. [[One is likely Supremes A-Go-Go).

Does anyone know how she died? It seemed like it was quite sudden and unexpected. God bless the lady.

Last night on Johnny's show, Andy did say that A Go Go was still off in the future somewhere, but that there was going to be an announcement in March about another project. He didn't give any indication who it was or what it was [[digital or physical product).

He also said that Supremes Sing Holland Dozier Holland was being readied and that "A Go Go" and "Sings HDH" both contain information/stories about Marlene previously unknown or unheard.

    Thanks Carole...I missed that part.

They have been diminishing their achievements in order to protect the legacy of others for many years. I hope they realize that now is the time for them to speak their truth. No one will do it for them.

Gradually the accurate history comes out regardless of what it actually is - Andantes, Motown 25, lending money or whatever

    For your reference, Ryon6.....

Stephanie told me a couple days ago on Facebook that she lost her password to SD, had written to the Moderator for it, but had not heard back and hasn't been able to post for quite a while.

So, if Ralph can help her............she'd be happy!

Sorry to read this. The Andantes brought a lot of pleasure to a lot of folks. I've been listening to their singing since 1960. That's 55 years.
