Who's the sax player on I Can't Dance? It makes the record a favorite.

  2. #52
Of the three versions of "I Can't Dance . . . " I think the second version was the best.

  3. #53
It's been pushed back a week?????

    Greetings mj and HW!

Enjoying the show and LOVING the alternate of "I Can't Dance".

Am curious to know; were Martha, Nettie, Roz, Betty, or Lois involved in anyway in the new 50th Anniversary collection? Contributing to liner notes, providing never-before-seen photos, etc?

    Carole...what are you talking about?

Third Finger, one of my favorites. Keep up the good work.

  11. #61
Her version of "Light My Fire" is actually pretty good.

  12. #62
Is Remember Me, the Ashford-Simpson/Diana Ross classic?

  13. #63
When Deke Richards/Debbie's Dean/Janie Bradford 's original version of Diana Ross & the Supremes' "Honey Bee [[Keep On Stinging Me) was released on ' A Cellarful Of Motown Vol 2" , our British friends spoke of it's quick popularity on the Northern soul scene.
I think that the same thing will happen with the alternate version of 'I Can't Dance To the Music You're Playing'.

  14. #64
Great! "You've Been In Love Too Long"...gotta be one of most favorite Martha & The Vandellas tunes...

Thank you MJ. You do realize that Dennis Lussier is Deke Ricards?

    No, it is not.
Johnny, Dennis Lussier is Deke Richards' name of birth.

  17. #67
Correct me if I'm mistaken, but isn't Dennis Lussier Deke Richards' real name?

Hey John, would you play "Hooked Real Good On A Bad Thing"? I'm really curious.

  20. #70
Carole, you beat me to it!

And Remember Me is a great ballad. It sounds very much from the "Watchout!" era of songs [[1966-67) Can't wait to have it clean and remastered on this set!

    Please, more from disc 3
How about S.O.S. Girl In Distress.
Harry didn't address whether it is/is not the same song recorded by Marv Johnson.

Also see post #69 from Sophisticated Soul.
The lyrics are completely different from Marv Johnson's version of S.O.S. Girl In Distress; the musical track is basically the same.

Same here! And I think HW did answer my question; it sounds as though Annette was involved in this new set?

Thanks for introducing us to this great collection.

Harry Weinger said last night that the release date of the 50th anniversary Collections was April 9, yet websites such as Amazon, Import CD's, etc all show April 2, as originally announced.
Has or has there not been a change of release date?

  40. #90
APRIL 2 IS THE CORRECT DATE.

    Sorry about that.
