Rare Motown Picnic Footage From 1974!

Here's a special treat I am sure you will all enjoy. Here is video footage from Motown's company picnic in 1974. Just about everyone at Motown was there. Check it out!

This is one of those rare times we get to see Frank Wilson. There are so many people in this video that without the help of the narrator, I think I would have missed some.

It's too bad that on the DVD released by universal, that footage is listed as being from 1970. And of course, we know that this is 1974 just by looking at who's there, how they looked, and how they were dressed. THAT my friend, is why we are skeptical; when people say certain Supremes aren't on certain records. Things like this muddy the credibility of Universal.

Are you serious? Someone listed it as being from 1970? I do remember seeing still photos from this picnic in "Right On" magazine in...........1974! As Jean Terrell said, "if it is not on the back of the album, then don't believe it!"

Thanks CM. I think it is wonderful that Motown recorded some of these events. I wonder if there is footage from the different Sterling Balls they had as scholarship fundraisers back in the late 60's and early 70's.

Does anyone remember a young lady Wendal was producing/recording several years ago? I 'think' that's who it was....time has a way of fading things anymore. I believe he put a CD out on her. Does anyone remember this and who she was?

You are all welcome. I find it admirable that Motown kept or least tried to keep it's family atmosphere once the company moved out West. If you think this picnic was something, can you imagine the ones they had in Detroit, on Belle Isle? Whew!
