just placed my order: I'm loving all this flow of product,as they say in the industry.;.
They must be selling a few copies of all of these reissues or they would not be allowed [[in this day of the dieing CD) to keep putting more and more of these quality releases out.
actually, this past year reversed the trend[[Physical product is on the upswing for the first time in a decade, CDS AND vinyl records, believe it or not)...
keep buying real things, people, support Motown/Hip O Select!
Thanks De123 for bing Johnny on the Spot on this one !!! Good find.

Bring it on!
This is going to be a great set. I'm very much looking forward to it.
Anyone seen a track listing yet???
Just order mine from Amazon.co.uk for £61.99. If this follows previous releases by the time it comes out the price will be around £15.00.

The release date seems a bit soon for a disc that's not even on the Hip O Select site yet.
This is great news!
Great to hear. I'm surprised Harry or Andy have not stepped in yet to give us some details
Reece,
I've noticed that amazon.com had a release date and track listing information available for Supremes' expanded editions before it was on the official Hip-o Select Motown page in the past. Not sure why this happened, but this looks like it may be well worth shelling out money for a two disc set.
The day I shell out big bucks for cds sight unseen or ooooooover. Show me the info!!
Amazon does not bill your credit card until the pre-ordered disc has shipped.
Now down to £11.96 at Amazon.co.uk, and that is what I and anyone else who ordered it will pay for this now [[unless it goes even lower) thanks to the pre-order price guarantee.

Thanks for the list, for some reason I always thought the group was performing the song People during this time frame of their Copa appearance.
yeah ,i was expecting it as well.? track listing looks good
Is there new stuff?
Well, this is all from the HIP-O site:Is there new stuff?
Disc One of At The Copa: Expanded Edition contains the digitally remastered original stereo album – an album that, owing to then-insurmountable technical problems, used lead vocals overdubbed by Diana Ross in the studio. Also on Disc One are 10 specially selected, previously unreleased original mono reference mixes, with Ms. Ross’s original live vocals. Listeners will be able to hear the magic of both versions.Disc Two features the full Copa show, as only the audience would have experienced it in 1965, in a brand-new mix that compiles the best performances from six recorded shows. Today’s technology allowed the producers to overcome issues that vexed their 1960s counterparts, resulting not only in the use of the original lead vocals but the inclusion of songs cut from the original release: the opening number “From This Moment On,” their hits “Where Did Our Love Go” and “Nothing But Heartaches,” and classic show tunes including “Tonight/The Way You Look Tonight,” and “Enjoy Yourself [[It’s Later Than You Think).”
Looks and sounds like another winner! Huge thanks to Andy & George and all involved!
Oh no! What will we do?! It's sold out!
Always thought that this project would be focused on the never released Copa recordings from 1967. Whatever happened to them?
Is this reason to buy this for the sound quality?
Sure, the sound quality would be one reason but, as posted above, there's a lot of extra material including cut songs, reinserted original vocals, unreleased mono mixes and brand new mixes to enjoy.
I was always under the impression that the vocals were over dubbed on the original album because Diana's vocals were not up to par. Reading about this new release it seems to indicate that it was because of technical difficulties.
OUCH!!!!!! It was taken off the site. Not sure that has happened before.
A live version of Nothing But Heartaches! I can't wait!!
It's not under the Motown Select tab anymore, but you can still link to it here:

Perhaps they're just modifying it for some reason.
It now says 'Pre-Sale Item!' rather than 'Sold Out'.
They always come up "sold out" for the first day or two.......and then they take that away. I wonder how many copies of this one they are making; I don't see it there.
An assessment from The Second Disc blog [[and some comments) --

Looking forward to this, never bought any of the hip-o-select releases just downloaded some songs from itunes. "Enjoy Yourself" is a shared lead between all three girls Diana does the first verse, Mary the 2nd and Flo the 3rd. I have a bootleg with some of the show they did at the Roostertail in 1966 and they do "Enjoy Yourself" but right before the 3rd verse Diana says "I'm gonna have to do the 3rd verse because Florence is too scared" I always thought that was odd.
I am very excited about this release and preordered yesterday. I have ordered many CDs from Hip-O-Select and like supporting their efforts to bring us the music I so love.
Penny
so the question is will the version of "enjoy yourself" feature, Mary and Flo doing a lead on the copa cd or is Flo's lead cut too, I was disappointed that "People" was omitted from the set, but hey this is the show I wanted to see but was too young, at the time and my copa cd is not up to par so I will be purchasing this. Maybe we will get some surprises on some of these tracks that will be rewarding especially Your Nobody till Somebody loves You".
I am sure if there are some usable Mary or Flo leads, they definitely would pass those on to the fans because they know we would cherish it.
thanks for these assertions jobete, by the way were you a Motown publicity person back in the day.
A few interesting facts about the Copa release. I think you'll get the greatest impact if you play disc 2 first and hear the complete show. For variety we chose an alternate performance of each released song when available. Of course they're similar but there are certainly surprises and no overdubs.
They recorded 6 performances and "People" wasn't performed in any of them. It was, however in the act and recorded for what was supposed to be their next live album at the Roostertail. Of course we know that album was cancelled. What we didn't know is that Motown pulled four unused performances from the Copa show and were going to include them on the Roostertail album, including "Enjoy Yourself". It was the only recorded performance of the song so it is the same that has circulated on bootleg tapes with just Mary's solo verse.
The unreleased mono album at the end of disc one was quite a find as well. We only omitted a few songs because they wouldn't fit but they were the exact same performances that are on the complete original stereo album. Many of the others are different and again...have no overdubs.
I always enjoyed the original album but I can't stop listening to the new mix of the complete show with the additional songs and stage patter. And we hope to get out future unreleased live albums that show just how much they grew as performers in such a short amount of time!
As always...thanks for the support and interest in these releases. We put a lot into them and it's nice to know that people care.
