And I never knew how many friends I had until I started driving to school in the 11th grade. LOL. After walking one and a half miles to junior high and two miles to high school, being able to make a 25 minute trip in five minutes made me popular in the neighborhood!
Jerry! I saw the same thing in Memphis in 1995. I was driving my girlfriend home to visit her mother who lived in Brownsville, TN outside of Memphis. I remember seeing these huge houses that were so big they looked like Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons looming over these high fences. I've seen mansions before,but not in such close proximity to poorer neighborhoods.
