    Happy 21st Soulful Detroit

Another year, another birthday. This one is a bigeee. Twenty one years is quite an accomplishment. Seems like I have been here forever. Many thanks to all the members and the valuable contributions that keep this place ticking. Couldn´t be done without you.

Time goes by so quickly. I'm still remembering last year, when SDF was 20 years young!
Although not here at the beginning I came a bit after & remember some who have passed.

It was not unusual to see The Funks on here [Babbitt, Willis, Jones, Ashford to name a few] as well as those behind the scenes [& there are many].

    Continued succes to SDF.

Uh, Ralph......this is where you go on vacation & we get the elephants......

Thanks to many of you who participate in Clubhouse. I feel that I have gotten to know a few of you. Great personalities. I look forward to reading your posts.

    21!

I have been lurking in the early years, then when the universal Motown boards came down, a home was offered here.

Thank you Ralph for keeping us in informed, together and in check.

Thank you Lowell for paying the bills.

Happy birthday SDF. You provided me with a platform that I needed at a critical point in my career. May there be many more birthdays for SDF. Thanks Ralph.

Happy 21st Birthday to Soulful Detroit Forums. As Smokey Robinson stated on one of his albums, Time Flies When You're Having Fun. Thanks always to Ralph & his Staff for their hard work and for making this site everything that it is.

You don't want to know Ralph. Trust me! LOL

Sounds like my kind of place, MsM. Or is that where RandB keeps the damn elephants.

  26. #26
The location of the elephants is a highly guarded top secret and I'm afraid you don't have the clearance for that info. HOWEVER, considering the aroma from the kitchen that permeates the place, I'm guessing folks may assume there are circus animals hiding inside. Pick your poison my friend.

so you´re telling me he keeps the elephants in the kitchen???

  28. #28
    HAHAHAHAHAHA
Nope it just smells that way.

  29. #29
    I find that more disturbing.....

As well you should but if you're feeling froggy by all means jump on over to Grady's. Be sure to order some of Jai's special elixir. It will kill....I mean cure all your ills!

Congrats to Ralph for 21 years!!! That is amazing. I was spending some time with a friend of mine in Detroit and we were reminiscing about the forum and all the wonderful stories from Babbitt, Deke, Dennis, and so so many more. I had to log back in and check out what was up, only to see this thread. Thanks for doing what you do Ralph and congrats again, and Happy Birthday to Soulful Detroit!

Wow!!!! 21 years old! SDF can vote and legally drink alcohol!!! I remember 21. It seems like 3 lifetimes ago. Nice to see Bob Ohlsson still here. I hope Dennis comes along, too. I hope he and the other old-timers see my Gino Washington thread, too. 2001 seems like only a few years ago. It's amazing how fast the years go by. It's amazing that SDF is still going so strong, considering that many [[if not most) fora are dying, with people moving to the likes of Facebook, Twitter, Tick Tock, and Instagram. But, I guess quality shows through. Congratulations to all of us! And may we enjoy many more years!
