This is the same Lee Williams who was lead singer of The Cymbals, and recorded for Carnival Records, right? I only saw him when he was in his 20s, but this guy looks very much like he could be the same person.

Hi Robb, they are not the same.

This Lee Williams is from Tupelo Mississippi, and was for many decades performing gospel with the Spiritual QCs. He was the bass player and shared lead vocals with Willie Ligon until Willie left. He spent many years driving 18 wheel rigs during the week and performing gospel with his group at weekends. The recording career didn't start until the late 90s

The other Lee Williams and the Cymbals were out of Harlem New York and signed with Carnival in the 60s.

    Hi Robb,

Here's another unmissable by Lee Williams and the Spiritual QCs. In another post you talked about trials and tribulations. Here's a wonderful exposition on the subject.
