Songs where background artists recorded same song later

    Hi all,
The other day I was thinking about one of my favorites tracks by Marvin Gaye: "Try It Baby." Of course the Temps later recorded a version with DRATS.

Were there any other instances where a single artist or group sang background on a song and later did their own version, either alone or with others?

Martha and the Vandellas sang background on Marvin Gaye's HITCH HIKE. Later, Martha used the same track for their version that ended up on their DANCE PARTY album.

In a twist, The Vels, an early incarnation of the Vandellas, recorded THERE HE IS [[AT MY DOOR) with Gloria Williamson on lead. After Gloria left, they used the same track and re-recorded the song with Martha on lead.
