    "Nightflight" Tue Jul 16, 9P-12M ET:Summertime Summertime Sum-Sum- Summertime!

Howdy, "Nightflight" Listeners!! Hope your bearing this week's heat without prostration! I thought I would do another "theme" show that I have never done before for tonight's show. And the theme is Summer. I found not only lots of popular Summer songs, but some rarities as well as rare to radio. And I will be covering Summer with songs from over the past 60 years...so I will try to hit some of your favorites! Of course there are endless numbers of songs that not only address Summer specifically, but give you a Summer feeling. So I will try to get through as many as possible.
Join me tonight as I pay tribute to Summer...on "Nightflight"...on WOMR 92.1 FM Provincetown and WFMR 91.3 FM Orleans and we are streaming live worldwide in digital stereo at
    www.womr.org/listen/online
    Thanks!
    John

Funny you should have a Summertime show tonight, as I am currently experiencing a bad sunburn on my forehead from watching this weekend's Pride Parade. Stood out in the sun just a tad too long. I haven't had a sunburn in years. My forehead is actually peeling. Yikes! 'Summertime and the living isn't so easy, fish aren't jumping and my forehead is fried'. See you and the Gang on the Radiola!

I didn't know Berry Gordy knew how to surf.... Well that explains the Motown move to California!

And he managed everyone who came to the shoreline for pennies on the dollar if they signed the standard early sixties Motown contract.... Everyone got billed for Maxine Powell's classes on how to properly spread out your beach towel and how to get in and out of a dune buggy without protruding ones buttocks

Possibilities: How's about "Summer In The City" by the Lovin' Spoonful or "Sunshine Superman" by Donovan?

Thank you John. Actually, this Summer marks the 50th anniversary of the time I first heard the voice Diana Ross [["Live At The Apollo"). So this show marks 50 years of me being a Diana Ross fan. Our Golden Anniversary so to speak.
