This just came up on Ace's website. Darrell is one of my favorite soul vocalists, so I'm very happy about this. I think most [[if not all) of his Volt recordings were released on the Goldmine CD "The Lost Soul" many moons ago, but I'll be buying this for remastered sound, unreleased songs/takes and the booklets.

[Nothing But Soul]

Stax put out a CD in the 90s called Sound of Detroit that included 12 Volt label tracks by Darrell Banks, everything but the demos on the Ace CD. That CD also included six tracks by Steve Mancha and seven tracks by J.J. Barnes [[including "Snow Flakes", my all time favorite J.J. Barnes record). Sound of Detroit is out of print, but there are still sellers that have it.
