    Thanks, jobeterob.

It's a great addition to my list and one of my favs by Ms. Gore. I recently saw her do "California Nights" on an old Batman episode from '67 where she plays one of Catwoman's followers. Check it out:

I discovered another one from Britain, Sandie Shaw. She had 2 superb pop records with There's Always Something There To Remind Me and Girl Don't Come. What a soulful voice she had.

Oh, another one that listeners request on my music of your life show is Blame It On the Bossa Nova by Eydie Gorme. It was used in the film Doubt and people fell in love with it.

Nplm - This is a stellar list. Those sirens' songs are calling to me as we speak.

Special note: Your addition of Eydie Gorme is a touch of pure genius. Eydie Gorme has an astounding voice. And a vocal know-how that is rare and all her own. Nplm, I gotta say--Your lists uncover; your lists acknowledge; your lists teach.

Some others that come to mind at the moment by Sandie that I like are "I'll Stop At Nothing" and her cover of the Beatles' "Love Me Do". "There's Always Something..." was a good song and covered by many artists. I also have it by Dionne, Lou Johnson, Patti & The Bluebelles, Drifters, Jose Feliciano, Johnny Mathis, etc. In the 60's just about everyone was doing their own version of Burt Bacharach's songs! Ronnie Dyson did a great cover of "Girl Don't Come".

Eydie has always been a favorite. "Blame It On The Bossa Nova" was a huge hit. I also dug "Can't Get Over The Bossa Nova" by her.

Thanks, Meth. I'd like to do another Pop Sirens thread; there are so many great female artists that it makes my head spin! Eydie is an outstanding vocalist and deserves a thread of her own...watch this space.

A listener requested another one I hadn't heard, Gone by Joey Heatherton. It's a good record. I learn so much on the music of your life show.

Kam, the first thing I thought of when I saw Joey Heatherton's name metioned on your post was of her boobs! LOL Hip-O had released a CD on her a few years ago where she is topless on the cover:

I think of her boobs too. I almost bought the album because of its cover, but I didn't know who Joey Heatherton was. And thanks for turning me on to Julie London's Wives & Lovers. If sexy had a definiitive sound it might sound like Julie London!
