Let's see 'on this particular list', Jimmy Scott influence Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra [[who snuck in Jimmy's shows & out before the lights went up), & Lenny Welch.
Just a few of the singer's he influenced from many genres & generations as a "singer's singer".

Jimmy was influenced by Perry Cuomo's cool laid-back style 'on this list'.

Whom Jimmy loved 'on this list' besides Perry, Nat King Cole & Johnny Hartman.
    He liked Tony Bennett.

What about the UK Frank Sinatra response, the untimely and sadly deceased Matt Monro?

Here's his cover of "I Can't Quite My Eyes Of You" in spanish [["No puedo quitar mis ojos de ti")

About soul male crooners, my absolute favorites have been ever Lou Rawls, Johnny Mathis, Brook Benton and Al Wilson

Al Wilson is a great singer who never got his due. Show and Tell will always be remembered as a great song but his voice in the Snake and other records he has done are so underrated he is one of the great crooners of the 70s.

Personally, I don't think singers like Al Wilson or Tyrone Davis are on the level of Crooners like Johnny Mathis, Sinatra, Johnny Hartman, Jimmy Scott or Nat Cole. Wilson and Davis were pop/soul/blues singers who often relied on contemporary sounds, songwriters. They were not true crooners. They were good, but made music that was trendy. The true male crooners sang standards and classic popular songs written by songwriters like Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer, etc. Singers like Cole and Hartman were stylists.
