I appreciated Mr. Richards, it was not until I recently purchased Rare Pearls, the unreleased J5 set that I would say that his stock should be rated higher than it is. A great shot of him circa early seventies is in the box set as well.

I always thought that Deke was an underrated writer and producer.

Like many, I loved his lengthy posts on the old SD forum.

I always hoped that he would do some more at some stage, but sadly, that will never be.

Just glad I saved some of those posts!

I must get the Martha & The Vandellas 50th Anniversary set so I can get the updated story on the 'I Can't Dance Caper', and how the multitrack with Martha's inact chorus was seemingly forgotten & then discovered. [[I got the MP3 of Deke's mix off Amazon btw).
