Groovin With Jesus may well be THE funkiest groove EVER laid down to tape. Loved this track for a long time and have had the album for years.

    Here you go, arr&bee:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Aby2QyhkiA

If this is the record you were referring to, this was by a gospel group called the Sensational Nightingales. "It's Gonna Rain Again" was releaed on Peacock in 1972.

You know, one of the best gospel performances I've seen was the Edwin Hawkins Singers on the old Johnny Cash show. They blew the roof off the old Ryman Auditorium with To My Father's House..

Thanks for sharing some of your favs, IMNK.

I have the Marion Gaines Singers' "Do Your Thing" - great track. They also did a funky version of "Grandma's Hands" that would make Bill Withers proud!

The Cassietta George track was a new one for me and the moment it began playing I was instantly hooked. Awesome!

I found this on You Tube; not sure if this was from the Johnny Cash Show. It does sound like Cash introducing them. Yeah, they tore it up. Excellent old school gospel. Thanks, Kamasu.
