A financial and critical fiasco upon its initial release.
But it has a 4-min. scene in which it truly comes alive.

The scene features:
· Kris Kristofferson, who was in his early 40s at the time and is completely, wonderfully believable as a college student;
· John Hurt;
· Joseph Cotten [[very briefly, in the beginning); and
· the gorgeous Rosie Vela as the tall girl who ends up dancing with Kristofferson.

The use of Strauss' THE BLUE DANUBE is absolutely perfect. Sublime, actually.

Because Harvard refused to allow filming on its campus, the part of "Harvard"--in typical Hollywood tradition--is played by Oxford!
