Cool Zapp san jose soul jam

In my opinion, the greatest entertainers out there today. Zapp are more than a great band, they are a troupe, a collective of multi instrumentalists, dancers, stage artists, singers and funksters who give the audience more than any other act out there - again, a personal opinion. Though they sadly lost Roger and Larry, the Troutman family and other original members carry the tradition intact. Special mention of the newest recruit, ThomAs TroutmAn, son of Terry and nephew of Lester, who has truly amazing levels of energy, dancing, somersaults, keyboards, drums, vocals, etc etc and great stage presence. Numerous costume changes, fabulous instrumentation, stage craft and weirdness ensured everyone was nailed to trying to follow what was going on on stage. A never ending parade of energetic characters who raised the roof. Everybody should make a point of seeing Zapp at least once in their lifetimeName: P1000430.jpg

I'm glad you enjoyed the show, Mike! I was blessed to see Zapp back in the early '80s and if the family can compensate for the loss of Roger, one of the greatest funk showmen of all time [[right beside George Clinton and James Brown, in my opinion), then I'm sure they put on a great show. Roger left them with tons of great material to perform.

Jerry, I last saw them in 1994 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View. They appeared from the back of the theatre, all dressed in aluminium bacofoil suits and tore the place up. My wife and I never forgot it, so we were thrilled to see they have lost nothing nearly two decades later. Whilst Roger is sorely missed, they have still the greatest show on earth!!!!! Also saw them years ago in the UK when they appeared in cowboy hats

My brother was a fan of Zapp when they were still Roger & the Human Body. He said that they put on a show at his Air Force base that was truly fantastic. I remember him telling about Roger stripping down to his jock strap, which he also did when I saw him years later. I'm betting that was the one constant in all of his shows.
