Thanks MJ, one of my faves.
I love DMF so much; DMC and JMC less so. While Frank produced for JMC, were Mary and Cindy given leads on album cuts or was the emphasis solely on establishing Jean as the lead sound? Where The Andantes filling in much for Mary and Cindy during this period?
Cindy told me she sang on Up The Ladder [[which is obvious), Stoned Love, and Nathan Jones. Those are the tracks I asked her about. She also said they worked very hard on Nathan Jones to get the voices synchronized.
Don't forget that Dennis Lussier is also known as Deke Richards.
Thank you, Jim and John, for the JMC/Andantes answers.
"I'll Be Alright" - the BEST!
The Mary O'Brien writer credit on ' Castles In the Sand' always puzzles me. We know that England's Mary Isabelle Catherine Bernadette O'Brien went by the name Dusty Springfield. She did visit the U.S. on at least 2 documented occasions in 1964 and was in awe of the Motown sound.
I've never seen anything written that links Dusty Springfield to the Mary O'Brien of 'Castles In the Sand'. So this Mary O'Brien is likely another composer.
How about back to back 'I Wish I Were Your Mirror'- Supremes/4 Tops? If not both versions, then how about Jean, Mary & Cindy's?
Oh, those Isley guys!
ALL BECAUSE I LOVE YOU.
So great. So Frank. So Isleys.
Thanks for spinnin' that tune!
Thank you for both All I Needs. This is my favorite David Ruffin performance.
Thank you JP for the All I Needs .. love it ...
I looked Dusty Springfield's full name and it is... Mary Isobel Catherine Bernadette O'Brien OBE. The writing credit Mary Margaret O'Brien... so it is not looking like it's Dusty on the writing credit.
WooHoo Eddie!!!!
Thank you John. Great stuff.
Barbara Randolph was an original... of another sort
You just gave the hint when you pushed the wrong button.
What ! You're not going to broadcast from the vault as you proposed?????!!!!
Oh my , John, now your world is crumbling..... written by the Lewis Sisters & produced by Hal Davis..... but we love it anyway!!

Thank you for playin' MY WORLD IS CRUMBLING.
Don't forget that the Vow's 'My Baby Changes Like The Weather' uses the Miracle's backing track. Perhaps it can be part of next week's show?
I wonder... did Frank also produce Jimmy Webb's 'Do What You Gotta Do' also on Four tops Now! ?
Thank you all for your hearts and souls...and funny bones!!! RIP Rev Frank Wilson!!
See you next week for part 2 I hope!!! John
Mary Wilson lists the title [[Standing Ovation) in Dreamgirls for JMC but it hasn't appeared yet, so it may not have been recorded by them. If you think of it, please ask Harry, Andy & George when you get to NY/NJ.
