    Drama in the Dramatics

    Hi!

There's some turbulence in the group - interviews with L.J. Reynolds, Willie Ford and a new member, Leon Franklin.
Also an interview with Ron Tyson of the Temptations and Michael McGill of the Dells at

Got to agree MadLad. LJ, of course, is a fabulous singer, but having watched interviews on youtube and the Dramatics DVD from 2 or 3 years ago, which I have, which has an LJ interview and shows him in rehearsal, it seems there is a lot of arrogance there too.

As for Willie, he's been in the group longest, and seems a much more easygoing guy. It seems to me the passing of Ron has given LJ the chance to seek full control of the Dramatics 'brand'.

Watching that DVD [[which I have lots of times) the then line-up of Banks, Ford, reynolds, Kelly and Brock seemed to fit together so well. It seems they were just putting on a show...

Just watched this interview with LJ on the turmoil, with some music from the new group. They sound good. No challenging questions though...

...and there's a movie too? Willie Ford is still on board at this stage.

    Thank you, MadLad and Soulwally!

As far as I know the court ruling on Monday was that L.J. doesn't own the group, so I think inevitably this leads to two groups at this point. Actually turns out that in 1973 - when the splinter group appeared with Wee Gee and Wilkins leaving - Ron, Willie and Squirrel bought the name 'The Dramatics'.

    Best regards
    Heikki
