Ok. No Paul Williams and Eddie Kendricks were not related but Melvin Franklin and Richard Street were cousins. I grew up with some of their cousins.

Before I proceed further, are we speaking strictly about Soul groups, or are we including earlier R&B groups as well?

Great responses, I knew SDF would come through! Pointer Sisters -- duh, on me! I was trying to add more female groups and missed there.

Wondering about some large funk bands, L.T.D., Slave, ConFunkShun? Any relatives there?

    P-Shark,

No foul there. It's happened to me more than I'd care to admit.

    T-Sull,

Yes, Jeffrey & Billy Osborne. Unfortunately, they had a bit of a rift between the direction in which the group would go, a situation which had a bit to do with Jeffrey going solo.

I'm just not funky as I used to be, which can be either a good thing or a bad thing depending upon the context used. In this case, it's a bad thing. I hereby revoke my Funk pass & will listen to a few bars of "Billy, Don't Be A Hero"!

Anyone have some Old Spice or Brut by Faberge to spare

Brother to brother. An impressive team, although in another form than a group or band.
