Now JAI, this could really be a difficult one, but since it is one of my all time favorite Temptations songs, I give it a stab. The biggest misconception about this song is that it was written by Smokey Robinson and it wasn't!
Umm marv i hate to tell you this but....that ain't it...next!!
Uh Jai I love the way you put these things together, but does this involve Ruffin. If so then I'm not gonna answer.
That David Ruffin sang on it and it was his last tempts recording. Or if you are in a gracious mood and allow two - for - one, that only 4 tempts sang on it, though David Ruffin was still officially in the group.
David did sing on it if memory serves, the misconception would be that he didn't ....but you never know with Jai......
Ok,ok close enough, yes even today folks think that it was recorded after david left but he was right there, i think that the only reason this great song even was released as a single was because motown wanted something out while the search was on for ruffin's replacement!
Lol........
JAI they sang it on "Swinging Time", but no one has put the clip up on Youtube as far as I could see.
Actually it was "How Can I Forget", the b-side that was done without Ruffin! One of three singles made with the Temps as a quartet! But did they every do "I Could Never Love Another" on TV with Ruffin? I thought I saw a clip of them doing it on the Hollywood Palace, but I might have it confused with "I Wish It Would Rain"
