Howdy, Folks! Tonight, on "Nightflight", I thought it would be fitting to spend our 3 hours paying tribute to a man who created something very important to Motown, Soul and R&B...to the music and entertainment industries... and to us. Don Cornelius died a week ago...but he gave us an opportunity, every week, to view our favorite artists singing [[or lipsyncing) their new or classic hits. Don hosted the iconic "Soul Train" weekly from 1971 to 1993. He amazingly broke racial and regional barriers. He gave us time together on the weekends to see stylish, funky and outrageous outfits and dances and helped us to feel part of something exciting and significant.
Tonight, I'll air some of Don's and "Soul Train's" performances and interviews. Don's interviews often were most revealing and surprising. So, join me tonight for a tribute to the genius of Don Cornelius and "Soul Train"...on "Nightflight"...on WOMR 92.1 Fm Provincetown and WFMR 91.3 FM Orleans and streaming live worldwide in digital stereo at www.womr.org
Love...Peace...and Soul!
Thanks!
John
Don....rest in peace...
