    Blatant Payola ?

I think this record company offer to radio DJ's was a bit blatant !!
I wonder how they got away with it ?

$50 'awards' for the DJ that played the label's new R&B & gospel 45's the most number of times over a 5 week period. I guess it was one way of finding 'friendly' radio DJ's in a region not that well known to the promotions people at the label.

I don't think it was illegal at that time.

I love this! It hearkens back to a different era. Look at the names: "Odessa M. Cropper" and "Dootsie Williams"! Those are some old school, country, church folk names.
