I like discovering stuff on You Tube.....

Sometimes, when I have a little free time, I troll You Tube. Enter a song title I haven't heard in a long time and see if they have it there. For example, the other day I was trolling around and came up with a song from The Toys I haven't heard in years....

You guys ever just troll around and come up with a forgotten gem, and if so, what it is?

I love rooting around on You-Tube and it's become totally indispensible. Last weekend I was trawling through some audio cassettes [[remember those) of obscure 1960s Jamaican music that I had made over 20 years back. I'd forgotten many of the song titles and artists and had never bothered to make out a list so I ended up using You-Tube .. Of the 15 or so "mystery" tracks I was trying to identify all but two I found .. including these ..

    SLICKERS - "Nana"

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0gh1akn8_U

    THREE TOPS - "Its Raining"

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuJyKZTHIRU

EVAN AND JERRY - "Rocksteady Train"

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZjHdDbtx18

KENTRICK PATRICK [[LORD CREATOR) - "Don't Stay Out Late"

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oq2kIAJEIpk

And getting back to R&B here is a little gem I found on there a couple of months back by BRENTON WOOD ..

That track by the Toys is one of my favorites,Doug and I have it on cd but what I enjoy most about trolling around on
Youtube is finding stuff I'd never heard before especially for artists that I really would love to have practically everything
from. I've said before that I am crazy about The Cookies and I was surprised to find this on youtube this fall...

I also cannot do the embed thing for some reason I've yet to figure out. My computer crashed last spring and I lost
some capabilities even after recovery and don't really have time or money right now to replace them...O well...

The embed code don't work on this forum. You would need to cut & paste
the video link into "Insert Video" which is the 2nd icon from right, and then
your video will appear on this page. It will work for youtube, dailymotion
& hulu. Not sure about any other video sites

Thank you, kdubya...the whole history of this group is just too dang fascinating and at the same time tragic to me...
from their earlier beginnings in raw R&B, then with Margie Hendricks joining the group and later leaving with Darlene Mcrea
to become Ray Charles' Raelets and her sister Earljean taking over as main lead and all of the session work backing other
acts including their friend Little Eva Boyd. Unfortunately as often happens sex rears it's head in what were once professional relations and Gerry Goffin sabotages the future of the group by bedding and impregnating the lead, in the process also ruining his marriage and working partership with his wife Carol King...At least they did score a solo hit for
Earljean with I'm Into Something Good and I'm glad they finally realised the Cookies were made up of 3, not just 1, girls
who could sing lead. Margaret Ross nails and wails her butt off on tracks like I Never Dreamed. The video collage, though
it includes some errors like a picture of the Ikettes, reminds me I want to read that Russ Tittleman autobiography...And troll youtube some more today....
