    Covering the basses

We all know about JJ and Babbitt and some of the other illustrious bass players that came out of Hitsville [[or passed through the portals). Tony Newton did a lot more than he was credited for. Who knows anything about Professor Tweed Beard and any of the other 'bottom' feeders?

Thanks Roger. I know Tony. He double handed with Jamerson on such tracks as Nowhere to Run, Baby Love and Stop In the Name of Love. Some of the other big Detroit bassists worked on the endless roster of players at Hitsville. But the prof has always been a mystery to me.
