    Howard Tate RIP ?

Its being reported [[by a couple of sources) that Howard Tate has passed away.
I really hope it isn't so but fear the news is correct.
After years away from the music biz during which he took on his personal demons & went back to the church, a while back he got back into recording. He once more worked with Jerry Ragavoy & the 2 guys came over to the UK to promote Howard's[[then) new album.
I caught Howard's record promotion show at a London club and was mightily impressed with him. After the show, I got to chat with him and a more grounded / humble man you couldn't have wished to meet. Also chatted with Jerry Ragavoy that night, which will remain in my memory for a very very long time.
Thanks for the pleasure you brought into my life, Howard. R.I.P.

I haven't been able to find any third party confirmation, but Wikipedia says he passed away yesterday from complications of leukemia.

I saw Howard Tate perform in Sept. 1966 on a big R&B bill --Joe Tex, Mary Wells, Lee Dorsey, Barbara Lewis, Pigmeat
Markham, the Van Dykes, William Bell, all backed by Clyde Williams Orchestra in Orlando, FL. Howard's hit at the
    time, "Ain't Nobody Home".

Yeah he was the Soul Man with the right voice and feel to the music.
Half A Man, Stop!, You're Looking Good, & Ain't Nobody Home, are classic recordings.
