2012 Grammy Nominations, By The Numbers
From Taylor Swift's major-category shutout to the army of collaborators on Kanye's 'All of the Lights,' we take a closer look at this year's nods.

The big headline out of Wednesday night's "Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!" event was that Kanye West came away with the night's gaudiest number at seven nods. He bested heavily tipped Grammy bait Adele, who scored six, tying her with veteran rockers Foo Fighters and Bruno Mars, with Lil Wayne and party-starting DJ Skrillex just behind at five.

Yes, there were some surprises, such as Justin Vernon's sedate folkie solo project Bon Iver snagging four nominations and British tweed revivalists Mumford & Sons rolling up an equal amount. But it's some of the other facts and figures we were more interested in.

So enjoy the 2011 Grammy nominations, by the numbers:

0: Number of major nominations scored by Taylor Swift for her smash Speak Now album. She did pull down three nods for Best Country Album and Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for "Mean."

4: Grammy nominations for the coaches from NBC reality singing show "The Voice," Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine.

0: Grammy nods for the judges [[Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Scherzinger) on "American Idol" and "The X Factor."

6: Age Rihanna was in 1994 when the first Foo Fighters album was released. RiRi is up against the veteran rockers in the Album of the Year category, where Dave Grohl [[42) and company are the elder statesmen in a race where none of the competition cross the three-decade mark: Bruno Mars [[26), Adele [[23) and Lady Gaga [[25).

Think Beyoncé and Britney Got the Grammy Cold Shoulder? Sound Off!

14: Number of guest vocalists on Kanye West's Song of the Year-nominated "All of the Lights." Among the personnel: Rihanna, Kid Cudi, Drake, Elton John, Alicia Keys, La Roux's Elly Jackson, John Legend, Charlie Wilson, The-Dream, Ryan Leslie and Tony Williams.

4: Grammy nods [[Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Alternative Music Album) for Justin Vernon's pastoral folk alter ego Bon Iver, representing his grand total to date.

2: Number of albums Best New Artist nominee Vernon has released to date, including 2008's debut, For Emma, Forever Ago.

4,368,190: How many more copies Adele has sold of 21 than Vernon has moved of Bon Iver.

15: Number of instruments Vernon is credited with playing on the album.

6: Total number of instruments played by the other Best New Artist nominees [[Skrillex, Nicki Minaj, J. Cole) on their albums, all of which go to country trio the Band Perry.

13: How many Grammy nominations Bruno Mars has racked up in the past two years.

31: Total Grammy nominations to date for the Foo Fighters.

2,336,946: The difference between Album of the Year nominee Lady Gaga's total Twitter followers [[16,522,422) and the entire rest of the field: Adele [[2,488,037), Mars [[5,601,164), Foo Fighters [[510,455) and Rihanna [[10,299,712).

136,870,141: YouTube plays for the nominees in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category. Though the Black Keys didn't make a video for their Buddy Holly cover "Dearest," Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks" racked up an impressive 44.2 million views, while Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera notched 61.7 million for "Moves Like Jagger," Coldplay were a bit behind with 25.1 million for "Paradise" and Tony Bennett and Amy Winehouse brought up the rear with 5.6 million views for "Body and Soul."

5/2/1: Respective lines of an unidentified substance smoked/snorted, extra hands sprouted and beards grown by the main character in the video for Mastodon's "Curl of the Burl," which was nominated for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Performance.

2: Rap category nominations for singer Chris Brown for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song [["Look at Me Now").

Dont they nominate Kanye West all the time?? Kinda like Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin? Looks like they got tired of Taylor Swift fast.

Sorry for the crappy post above; they just ran it all together.

Somehow, if Bon Ivar wins a grammy, we won't be hearing them give such a speech.
