That was good! I like it. Sounds like Martha is singing about present day Detroit. I wonder how they came together to come up with that recording?

Love this! Thanks for discovering and sharing it with us.
loved it.what a turn up that was. it reminds me of something from way back. cheers smark i loved it!
It seems to be for some kind of compliation project and documenatary pairing hip producers and djs with classic singers and artists [[and a few contempary singers as well, as LeeAnn Rimes is participating as well).
I am sharing this song as much as possible. Some people never heard of Martha, so it give me a nice story to tell as well.
Oh my. That was very interesting.
Miss Martha was singing with some real authority on this one. It sounds like she knows what she is singing about!
There's a music video for the song now with Martha. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cqqwe...yer_embedded#!
Also there's behind-the-scenes footage of Martha recording the song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuv_q5A9eqM It's funny when they're coming up with lyrics and she says, "I ain't smashin' and I ain't bashin' nothing!"

Now see boys and girls, that is what you call artistic integrity. Not just singin anyhting that is handed to you because your'e getting paid for it. She won't sing anything that doens't truly represent what she wants to put forward. Mommy makes me PROUD.
Amen Miss Jill--bring it on HOME Miss Martha. You sound great!!
Martha really rocks this & I really like the production.Got a powerful sound. Its great that they did want Marthas input, it wouldn't work any other way.Always proud of Martha!
This appears to be a very well-produced song and the best thing I like about it is that she stayed down in her lower register, which is where she sounds best. When she tries to sing too high [[almost falsetto, if that is the right word), it just isn't natural. This song proves to me that with the right material and the right attention to promotion, she could still be a viable recording artist.
