    Some Picture Help Please!

    OK Gang,
I need some help. I posted 2 Supremes pictures. I've seen pics
from these sessions many times throughout the years, but I'd like to know
more about these two photo sessions. Year? Reason? [[Possible Album Cover?)
Any Information would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Here they are:

Sorry for the sizing. I had two other ones, but I couldn't get them
to post from my computer, so I had to dig these up on the web. I do
know that there is a sorta similar picture to the one on the right
in the liner notes to Motown Classics: Gold. It's a yellow background,
and all the girls have long hair. I don't know much about the one on
    the left though.

Any links or postings of similar photos would be AMAZING!!!
    Thanks

The photo on the left is from the photo session for the Supremes A Go-Go album cover. Flo is wearing the same shirt as the one that she is wearing on the cover, but with pink pants instead of a skirt. Diana and Mary also changed into different clothes during the session.

In regards to the second photo, the photoshoot took place in 1967. There are quite a few photos from this particular session, including the one you mentioned, where the girls are wearing mini-skirts [[it's featured in Mary's book, as well as the booklet included with the 1974 Anthology). They also changed a few times during this session. One photo in particular flashes across my mind...it's a photo of Flo from this session and she is wearing a gown. She has the same wig on that she is wearing in the photo above. If I can find it, I will post it.

By the way, the picture on the left is currently the cover of "The Supremes on Ed Sullivan" DVD [[edited somewhat).

I'm assuming these shots are also from that same session, since Flo is wearing the same wig?

All of the photos from this particular series of shots are amongst my most favourite Supremes photos:

Also, here are some photos from the same session as the photo you had posted on the left:

I've read that in the 2nd photo [[red sequins), the Supremes aren't actually wearing the dresses; they are just 'draped' on them to look as though they are wearing them.

I've heard that as well, MaryBrewster.

Carlo, Thanks for all the digging you did [[and the posting!).
I did have one of those, but I had some trouble posting it. I did not
know that the picture on the left was part of the Go-Go session. I never
would have noticed Florence's shirt! I also didn't know that so many different
pictures were taken during that 1967 set. I assumed those were multiple takes.

    Thanks again, very informative.

I think it was our very own DanMan who had originally pointed that out to me, as I never noticed it before either until he had mentioned it.

The only reason I am thinking all of those photos are from the same session is because Flo's wig is the same and their makeup looks similar between the different shots. I could be wrong...so if someone knows otherwise, please speak up!

    You're welcome!

Cool. I'm not sure that most of these were shot for any particular LP cover, since so many looks were done at one photo session. It looks like they were shooting for general use -- for publicity shots, LP artwork, etc. Motown had a photographic department in the Hitsville complex were such pictures could be taken.

Those are such pretty pictures. Those clothes really bring back some memories! I think my older sister wore some of those mod clothes!

OK, need some more picture help. I'm having some scanning issues, but for those that have
the new Supremes Ed Sullivan DVD, there's some cool pics on the inside cover. I recognize some
but have questions on a few. Can somebody help out by maybe scanning those for me?
